Argo Villa is a Victorian property built in 1900.

Approach

* The B&B is situated on the road that passes through St Dogmaels towards Poppit Sands beach.
* There is a 'Bed & Breakfast' sign at the front of the property.
* Local Buses from Cardigan bus station to St. Dogmaels will stop outside
* Argo Villa if you ask the driver for the 'blue house' opposite the Ferry Inn in St. Dogmaels.
* Bus services are the Poppit Rocket (405) & the Poppit Sands (407) Services are run by Richard Brothers -- 01239 613756, visit

Parking

* There are 2 large private off-highway pull in parking spaces are available in-front of Argo Villa.
* The parking area has a slightly uneven concrete surface.

Approach to main entrance

* From the parking area there are 9 steps up to the front of the property. The steps measure between 160mm and 170mm high, 290mm and 300mm deep and are 1500mm wide.
* The steps have a handrail on the right hand side (ascending) and the step nosings are not highlighted.
* There is outside lighting available from the front of the B&B property.
* From the top of the steps, there is a sloped concrete area up to the main entrance.

Main entrance

* There are 3 steps up to the main entrance door they measure 100mm high, 140mm high and 140mm high consecutively.
* There is no handrail and nosings are not highlighted.
* There is a bell for alerting assistance at the front door set at 1550mm high.
* The main entrance has a clear opening of width of 980mm and has a 50mm threshold.
* There is an internal door with a clear opening of 890mm wide.
* Both entrance doors have upper glass viewing panels.
* The floor surface is level and carpeted throughout.

Dining room

* There is a clear entry way 860mm wide into the dining room.
* There is a 20mm high wooden carpet edging threshold into the dining room.
* The floor is varnished bare floorboards and level throughout.
* There is a wood burning stove set on a 55mm high raised hearth.
* Manoeuvrability is fair and all furniture is free standing.
* Lighting is adequate and colour contrasting is fair.
* The table style provides room for up close seating without leg obstruction.
* A chair with firm back support and arms is available.
* Table service is provided.

Hallway and stairs

* The hallway is well lit and manoeuvrability is fair.
* Hallway flooring is carpeted and level throughout.
* To reach the first floor bedrooms there are 14 steps, then a landing with a right turn and a further 3 steps. There is no lift available.
* Steps measure 180mm-185mm high, 235mm-240mm deep and 920mm wide.
* There is a wooden handrail situated on the right hand side (ascending).
* The stairs are carpeted and nosings are not highlighted.
* Landing areas are clear / unobstructed.
* Lighting is provided over the stairs.

Bedrooms

For the purpose of this access statement the most spacious bedroom on the first floor has been outlined below. If however you would like to discuss any of the other bedrooms available in the guesthouse please contact us and we will be happy to discuss your requirements.

The Twin Bedded Room

* The doorway has a clear opening of 780mm wide.
* The handle is a lever style handle and the lock is a standard Yale style lock and key.
* Flooring consists of varnished wood floorboards and is level throughout.
* There are loose floor rugs alongside the beds.
* Colour contrasting is fair.
* Lighting is adequate with an additional bedside lamps provided.
* Light switches are approximately 1450mm high.
* Sockets are available at 980mm high.
* Manoeuvrability in this room is good and all furniture is freestanding.
* The beds are approximately 580mm high.
* Storage is available at a range of heights in the wardrobe.
* Furniture handles are good in terms of their colour contrasting but not an ideal style for gripping.
* There is a cordless kettle and tea/coffee making facilities available in the room.
* A tub chair with firm back support and arms is available.
* The dressing table is 755mm high.
* A coffee table is 420mm high.

The Twin Bedded En-suite

* Transition into the bathroom has a threshold 20mm high onto the vinyl floor.
* The doorway has a clear outward opening of 790mm wide.
* The handle is lever action with a twist action lock.
* Flooring is a safety vinyl with loose antislip floor mats.
* The bathroom is predominantly white in colour.
* Lighting is adequate and is operated by a wall switch outside the bathroom at 1200mm height.
* The shower fan and light is operated by a pull switch at 950mm height located on the left-hand side within the en-suite by the entrance door.
* There is additional wall mirror light with pull switch located at 1100mm height to right of the hand basin.
* There is one step up to the shower from the rest of the bathroom, the step is 200mm high and the nosing is highlighted on a contrasting colour.
* The slip safety shower tray is 170mm high and the double doors into the shower have a clear opening of 530mm width.
* An additional non-slip type rubber mat can be provided for the shower cubicle if required and requested.
* The shower controls are set at 1030mm high and are twist action operated.
* The shower-head is adjustable and detachable.
* There are no grab rails in this bathroom.
* The toilet seat is situated 410mm high and a toilet seat height adjuster is available on request. The flush is a push button and contrasts with the toilet porcelain.
* The toilet roll holder and a bin are within easy reach of the toilet.
* There is a hand basin on pedestal at 820mm height with quarter-turn lever action taps.
* The shaving socket is situated to the side of the hand basin mirror at 1530mm height.

Other Information

* Assistance dogs are welcome.
* Assistance with luggage can be provided.
* Checking in/out times can be flexible with prior notice. Please discuss this at time of booking.
* Special dietary requirements can be catered for if appropriate notice given at time of booking.
* There is a Zimmer frame available for use within the property.
* Due to the aspect of the property, mobile phone networks have a poor signal available if any within the property.
* The mains fire alarms are the audible only type, however the owner does recognise that some people may have specific requirements and advise guests to discuss this at the earliest convenience to ensure that mutually satisfactory procedures are put in place in the event of an emergency.
* Any reasonable requests for any additional equipment etc can be discussed and arrangements may be made at time of booking.
